[Again, it's not the question, or reaction, that he expects; it's not fair, for him to assume she'd react with unkindness, but it's hard to imagine how else one would react. Some people in Ryslig understood, but with how everyone had reacted to Atem's broadcast, he knew they were still far from normal. All the 'normal' people back home had wanted to round him up and lock him away, or kill him. Nanami is the closet person he can think of to consider 'normal,' while still being kind.]

I-I... [He looks at her again, though this time when his eye falls, it's not intentional. The next part just sort of slips out.] I couldn't feel a-any kind of hurt. It felt like everything was underwater. Like I couldn't feel anything except waves crashing against me. At least in the TV world I could s-still feel angry.

[His entire body tenses, and eventually his hand moves and forms around his core, bringing it back to stick it in its proper position in his head. He blinks.]

...You... [His mind feels slower, trying to think of what to say-- to think that Nanami could've understood. He places his hand back down on the table.]

What... would you have done? If you could...?

[It's not accusatory, just... inquisitive. Soft, and sympathetic, even if he doesn't know what the answer is.]
